Relativistic Stellar Models with Quadratic Equation of State

In this paper, we have obtained and presented new relativistic stellar configurations considering an anisotropic fluid distribution with a charge distribution and a gravitational potential Z(x) that depends on an adjustable parameter. The quadratic equation of state based on Feroze and Siddiqui viewpoint is used for the matter distribution. The new solutions can be written in terms of elementar...

Hydrodynamic modeling of accretion onto stellar magnetospheres

A numerical investigation is performed of the accretion of slowly rotating matter onto a stellar magnetosphere. The shape of the magnetosphere is represented by an impermeable, contracted dipole magnetic field surface with polar holes. Depending on the governing parameters, both steady-state solutions with a system of discontinuities and unsteady flows with expanding shock waves can be obtained...

Hydrodynamic models

Recent developments based on relativistic hydrodynamic models in high energy heavy ion collisions are discussed. I focus especially on how hydrodynamics works at RHIC energies and how one can use the most of it in analyses of jet quenching and thermal electromagnetic radiations. I also comment on improvement of initial conditions and viscosity in hydrodynamic models.

The Importance of Realistic Starting Models for Hydrodynamic Simulations of Stellar Collisions

We demonstrate the necessity of using realistic stellar models taken from stellar evolution codes, as opposed to polytropes, for starting models in smoothed particle hydrodynamics calculations of collisions between main sequence stars. Evolved stars have mean molecular weight gradients, which affect their entropy profiles and therefore affect how they react during a collision. The structure of ...

Closure of the stellar hydrodynamic equations for arbitrary distributions

The closure problem of the stellar hydrodynamic equations is studied in a general case by describing the family of phase space density functions for which the collisionless Boltzmann equation is strictly equivalent to a finite subset of moment equations. The method is based on the use of maximum entropy distributions, which are afterwards generalised to phase space density functions depending o...
